Day 14 to Tineo
17 September 2023 Day 14 destination Tineo, Asturias 26km
Poor internet- can’t update blog, I’ll try tomorrow.
Once you get in the hostel and people settle down for the evening, every last one (of us) is on the Internet, either surfing or who knows what but it all sucks down the Internet bandwidth, approaching ‘dial-up’ speeds of ancient modems….and nobody has any speed to really do much of anything. Maybe there’s a message there -turn off the damn phone and get OFF Netflix and STOP watching twitter video crap!
It’ll be a ‘short’ day with steep climb to prepare for the BIG climb Tuesday (map tomorrow).
I’ll let the pictures do the talking (once posted.). Today in its entirety was uphill but of modest grade ( for the most part)

We are starting at the red arrow and still have a lot of Asturias left to traverse. Asturias and Galicia are my favorite autonomous regions. Pay attention to the ridge line just a little bit to the left of the arrow. This is the big enchilada goal for Tuesday. More on the ’Hospitales route‘ later.
Recurring theme in pictures to follow will be ‘uphill’ done by “poco, a poco paso a paso”

Next Camino I will opt for ‘high-top’ trail runner footwear to lessen likelihood of ankle sprain

I can relive sections like this in my mind for years to come. While the km flew by, I willed them to slowly pass in my mind
