Day 4 To Pamplona
Day 4 | Sept. 12 | 706 km to go Back to Pamplona as a walking peregrino
Illaratz was a pleasant overnight stay but today off to Pamplona & see the sites not seen prior; the ‘fort’ and medieval cathedral. Dinner discussion last nite covered everyone’s aches & pains - mostly knees and calves assaulted by the difficult rocky downhill descent- hiking poles were my critical ally.
Destination Pamplona; Hostal Ardol

Today’s End point - easy day 32116 steps, yeah right. 😱 today - las rodillas me hablan en voz alto. - ‘my knees had conversations with me all day’
My walking friends for half the day: Anita Denmark, Daniela Catalonia, Paimaie Nederlands (for Anita the marathoner - two per year, simply a walk in the woods - she is a practicing podiatrist and had awesome recommendations and suggestions when things crop up ! I think I’ll put her on speed-dial ! (once my mobile finds a T mobile tower))
My friend Michael gets the award for the best sombrero, yes he brought it all the way from Seoul ! Enjoyed getting to know him in the hostel
Believe it or not I visited a third country where they speak a completely different language. A very proud people with a very interesting history. Basque. Basque country !
It’s a generational thing - I have always loved street and building art
