Day 37 “A Santiago” hoy !

Day 37 October 15 Destination = Santiago / Only 24 km to go !
“Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. And let endurance have its perfect result, so that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing
-James 1:2-4
….assuming divine inspiration I’m taking this one to the bank.

A lot of walking on the last day a lot of uphill and downhill but all very easy knowing that you’re going to hit the goal line at the end of the day !

Another wonderful start to the day . Oddly, it was very quiet and I was alone for the first 90 minutes me and my headlamp

Leaving the last of the trail through the woods before entering the outskirts of Santiago. I always marvel at the symmetry that can be found in nature - once again highly likely intelligent design because the law of thermodynamics and the physical phenomenon of entropy precludes such things from simply happening on their own.

Bagpipe entry to the plaza in Santiago after a loonnggg slog through the metro before it getting to the old part of the city

37 days later 14:30 pm. My final day was 40,300 steps but I never thought about the distance because this was ‘the day‘

The first thing I did when I got to town was to admire the front of the cathedral, number two to figure out where do I get my number to get in line to get my Compostela. I finally figured out where to do that and I was #1170 and they were calling number 570 at the time - the guard at the front door said probably three hours or four hours. I have time to go find my room (10 minutes before reception closed) and they tried to text me after which I went and had dinner or should I say lunch and then met up with friends that I haven’t seen in 21 days-bottom line it all worked out including getting a call from one of my brothers while I was waiting in line with only an hour to go

Nuff said - A lot of steps, a lot of kilometers, and 37 days of gratitude for being able to accomplish the goal set in place roughly 7 years ago
