“The Road goes ever on and on down from the door where it began. Now far ahead the Road has gone, and I must follow, if I can”
-J.R.R. Tolkien
Am I really going to be 1/4 into this thing after today - wow! Stella! Saint Dominic (born 2002 years ago !) is a friend of the pilgrims for building a bridge for easy crossing the local river
Appears to be a good guy who had an early ‘calling’ that has benefited Pilgrims for the last 1000 years 1019-2019. (‘The Call’ - great book by Os Guinness on two types of calling)
Esculptura (Sculpture) on final approach to Santo Domingo to commemorate 1002 years of good old ‘Saint Dominic’. Santo Dominic represented inside pillar of the bridge over river Oja. Always appreciate a guy who’s not afraid to shift gears in his life and try a new direction
The process of becoming a shadow of my former self
Topography changes as we climb to La Meseta
Notice Adam and Eve at the top right and left. (Prolly their fault that I feel the need to do this walk) Bottom left panel blown up below depicts the ‘greatest’ drama.
So like how long did that take to make? ! … I can’t make a simple library table in my own workshop in three years!
My pilgrim passport (Credential) is filling up rather quickly but in a time warp of time passing very slowly and exceedingly fast as we are essentially 1/4 of the way through the journey. Technically, one is supposed to get 2 sellos (stamps) per day as documentation of the journey) Oofdah! Passed the 200 km marker today somewhere in the middle of nowhere…
